Evaluates and treats speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders for a diverse patient population. Develops therapy programs and provides essential education to patients and their families.
Requires a Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology and BLS certification. Preference is given to candidates with two years of clinical experience and ASHA certification (CCC).
Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments, as well as swallowing, airway, clinical voice and resonance disorders. Develops and administers speech therapy programs and treatments for inpatients and outpatients of age groups defined by clinical competency, which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED Two (2) year clinical experience Certified (CCC) by the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association, or meets the educational requirements for certificate and in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification with completion in one year. Work Hours (EX:7AM-7PM): 8-430 Weekend Requirements: Yes
