Responsibilities

Evaluates speech, language, cognitive, and communication impairments, as well as swallowing, airway, clinical voice and resonance disorders. Develops and administers speech therapy programs and treatments for inpatients and outpatients of age groups defined by clinical competency, which may include neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The duties of this position require patient and family education and the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with and assisting patients, families, medical personnel and others in order to provide quality customer service.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED Previous patient care experience. Certified (CCC) by the American Speech/Language and Hearing Association, or meets the educational requirements for certificate and in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification with completion in one year. Work Hours (EX:7AM-7PM): 9-530 Weekend Requirements: Yes

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology and American Heart Association BLS certification. Preference is given to candidates with CCC certification from ASHA or those currently accumulating supervised experience.
