Responsibilities

In the Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCCU), you will work with patients with Cardiac and Vascular disease, some requiring an intermediate level of care. We care for patients with congestive heart failure, acute myocardial infarcts (STEMI, NSTEMI), cardiac dysrhythmia, cardiomyopathy, pulmonary edema, amputations, etc. Patients require many interventions on this unit including, echocardiogram, nuclear studies, pacemakers, percutaneous coronary intervention, vascular surgery, cardioversion and cath lab procedures. On this unit, you will become an expert at interpreting cardiac rhythms and skilled in drip titration, and post cath interventions such as TR Bands and Femoral Sheath pulls. Our nurses are trained in ACLS, NIHSS and responds to code blue events throughout the hospital.

Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing Licensed as an RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations. Must hold American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS). KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION PREFERRED: BSN degree Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
