This role will float between OTRC, OTC, Blackburn Center, 16 x Burnside Recovery Center, Letty Owings Center, River Haven, Community Engagement Program, Mobile Health, and Puentes.

Compensation: $79-$100/hr *Range varies based on professional experience and licensure/certifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing and Master’s degree in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing from State Board of Nursing approved schools of nursing.
  • Current license to practice nursing in Oregon and certified as a PMHNP by the Oregon State Board of Nursing and national certification.
  • Must meet CCC privileging requirements as required by FTCA.
  • Current BLS certification prior to start.
  • Must have full prescriptive powers in Oregon with a DEA number.
  • Must generally have the ability to walk, bend, stoop, kneel, squat, twist, reach, pull and lift heavy objects, and climb stairs with reasonable or no accommodation.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check. This includes clearance by the DHS Background Check Unit.
  • The OAR prohibits SUDS program staff from having within the previous 3 years a DUI conviction or diversion, a felony conviction, or a conviction under the Uniform Controlled Substances Act.
  • Valid driver's license preferred. If required to drive, must pass a DMV background check, and be designated an "acceptable" driver as outlined in Central City Concern's Fleet Safety Policy. If required to drive, must pass an initial driver's training within 60 days of being an approved driver and continued recertification training.
  • Must be able to work within an integrated, multidisciplinary setting.
  • Must adhere to the agency’s non-discrimination policies.
  • Ability to adhere to Central City Concern’s drug-free workplace which encourages a safe, healthy and productive work environment and strictly complies with the Drug-Free Work Place Act of 1988. An employee shall not, in the workplace, unlawfully manufacture, distribute, dispense, possess or use a controlled substance or alcohol.
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliation, cultural backgrounds, lifestyles, and sexual orientations, and treat each individual with respect and dignity.

Essential duties and responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care including but not limited to: psychiatric evaluation, consultation, psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions, and monitoring and addressing adverse effects.
  • Document in the electronic health record the plan for ongoing medical and psychiatric treatment in the outpatient setting
  • Provide crisis intervention, suicide assessment, and intervention.
  • Conduct care of psychiatric/mental health emergencies and initiate arrangements for continuing care or referral to appropriate facility.
  • Provides services across various sites and teams.
  • Provide patient and family education.
  • Participate in clinical staff meetings and case conferences in order to utilize interdisciplinary expertise and facilitate individual treatment plans for clients.
  • Refer patients, as necessary, to other mental health care providers and community resources/services.
  • Participate in records review to ensure that services are clinically appropriate and effective.
  • Maintain client records as required by program standards and funding requirements.
  • Participate in compliance, quality assurance and quality improvement activities as directed.
  • Adhere to all state and federal privacy regulations, including HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, and to CCC policies and agreements regarding confidentiality, privacy, and security. Support compliance with all privacy and security requirements pursuant to community partners’ and outside providers’ patient confidentiality agreements, including privacy and security requirements for EMR access. This includes immediate reporting of any PHI breach of CCC or outside provider health records to the CCC Legal and Quality departments, as well as to the program administrator.
  • Attend all mandatory CCC trainings in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & abilities

  • Ability to consider the impacts and outcomes for underserved communities during decision-making process.
  • Ability to consider impacts of oppression, structural racism, and individual bias on client outcomes.
  • Knowledge, evaluation and treatment planning for clients with substance use disorders, including both pharmacotherapies and psychotherapies.
  • Knowledge of evaluation plans and treatment of clients with a variety of psychiatric disorders, with psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions.
  • Skills in providing patient care, including rapidly building rapport.
  • Ability to make treatment decisions based on assessment of patient concerns within On-Call PMHNP scope of practice.
  • Ability to provide nonjudgmental and compassionate care to vulnerable, complex populations and to seek supervision as necessary.
  • Ability to practice independently and seek consultation when appropriate.
  • Ability to delegate patient care, as needed, and if appropriate.
  • Ability to work in a busy clinic setting and responsively attend to unpredictable requests for assistance from colleagues.
  • Ability to successfully interact with a diverse population, including both patients and co-workers.
  • Sufficient manual dexterity and physical ability to perform assigned tasks.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and necessary paperwork.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed when dealing with clients who are in crisis.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
  • Excellent communication skills including diplomacy, tact, and effective bedside manner.
