Medical Assistant Allergy Injection

• Job Summary The Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing patient centered care and procedures under the direct supervision of the registered nurse and physician.
• In addition, the MA will assist with medical procedures as well as perform a broad spectrum of administrative duties.
• Medical assistant experience preferred but not necessary.
• Primary Responsibilities Greets patients and prepares syringes for injection administration.
• Provides general care to patients.
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments, specifically allergy/immunotherapy injections.
• Maintains immunotherapy room with necessary supplies and materials.
• Ensures cleanliness.
• Observes, records and reports patients' vitals and reactions to treatments.
• Assesses patient needs and suggests solutions to patient care problems.
• Maintains accurate patient records.
• Assures patient stays for required observation time after injection(s).
• Reacts appropriately in patient reaction situations; informs physician and/or other clinical staff as necessary to mitigate adverse reactions.
• Responsible for reporting improperly operating medical equipment and instruments to supervisor.
• Responsible for following OSHA regulations.
• Maintains patient, employee and clinic confidentiality.

Requirements

Registered Medical Assistant or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant- Required (or must obtain within the first 90 days of employment) Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider (BLS/CPR)- Required (or willing to obtain) Work Environment This position will be performed on site in a medical office setting.
