About the role

Perform accurate radiographic examinations and assist radiologists with intricate procedures and contrast media administration. Act as the primary liaison between patients and the medical team while ensuring radiation safety and high-quality patient care.

JOB LOCATION - Commonwealth Health Physician Network - Multiple Locations Position Purpose Radiographers must demonstrate an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.

Radiographers must maintain a high degree of accuracy in radiographic positioning and exposure technique.

He or she must maintain knowledge about radiation protection and safety.

Radiographers prepare for and assist the Radiologist in the completion of intricate radiographic examinations.

They prepare and administer contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.

Radiographers are the primary liaison between patients and Radiologists and other members of the support team.

They must remain sensitive to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring and patient care skills.

Radiographers use professional and ethical judgment and critical thinking when performing their duties.

Quality improvement and customer service allows the Radiographer to be a responsible member of the health care team by continually assessing professional performance.

Radiographers embrace continuing education for optimal patient care, public education and enhanced knowledge and technical competence.

Position Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Radiology Technology either hospital based or college degree program.

Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes Previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist preferred, but will accept newly registered graduates from approved Radiology Technology program.

Competency in components of radiography practice as appropriate; radiation safety and protection.

Technical expertise, knowledge of anatomy, safety conscious, manual dexterity, clerical accuracy, verbal ability.

Licenses/Certificates: Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible: ARRT registered within six (6) months of graduation.

BLS required

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program and be ARRT registered or eligible within six months of graduation. BLS certification is required, and previous experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred.
