About the role

The Admission Counselor performs telephonic and in-person risk assessments and crisis interventions for potential patients. They coordinate the intake process, determine the appropriate level of care, and maintain communication between referral sources and facility staff.

Qualifications

2-3 years experience working in Mental Health setting Masters in Counseling, Psychology or Human Services required; RN License Preferred Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent/ aggressive behavior. General hospital environment. Must be willing to work with children, and adolescents Knowledge of group therapy processes, therapeutic, processes Knowledge of age specific growth and development Knowledge of addiction issues Knowledge of limit setting and behavior management, crisis management Highly Developed written and verbal communication skills Ability to plan, direct, and monitor others activities with demonstrated leadership abilities that contribute to a positive work environment.

Requirements

Requires a Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Human Services, with 2-3 years of experience in a mental health setting. Candidates should have knowledge of addiction, age-specific development, and experience managing aggressive psychiatric behavior.
