The Health Information Management (HIM) Document Imaging Technician receives patient records, ensures that patient identification is placed appropriately on each, and prepares all associated documents for scanning. Reviews documents for quality and identifies those that require additional preparation before scanning. Recognizes various types of documents, groups them accordingly, and sorts them in proper order. Operates and maintains scanning equipment to scan records into Community Medical Center's document imaging system. Works quickly and efficiently to maintain timely and efficient daily workflow, avoid delays, and assure that all records and loose documents are properly prepared, scanned, and indexed in CMC's document imaging system. Also responsible for clerical functions within the HIM Department according to reasonable expectations including but not limited to, record delivery, off-site storage record processing, purging, and folder preparation. Responsible for assisting HIM Department customers, including physicians, patients, patient families, and other health care providers. Responsible for understanding and utilizing all HIM Department computer systems.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of detailed clerical experience. A valid California Driver's License is required, and experience with medical terminology or imaging systems is preferred.
