The prime focus will be examining, diagnosing, and developing treatment plans for infections and injuries of the teeth and mouth. Carrying out the treatment plan in a competent and efficient manner is then expected. Via Care Community Health Center is an FQHC providing comprehensive primary and preventative health care services to our growing patient population.   • Our rapidly growing center offers services that include: internal and family medicine, pediatrics, dental, behavioral health, and drug and alcohol treatment. This is a great opportunity for providers interested in focusing on care delivery rather than the business of medicine/dentistry. In addition, we offer highly competitive compensation and great benefits Essential Functions Evaluate patients’ intraoral & peri-oral hard and soft tissue condition; including caries, endodontic/periodontal pathology, soft tissue and developmental pathology. Diagnose and treat Emergency Dental situations such as toothaches, broken teeth/restorations, dislodged crown/bridges, broken off denture teeth etc. Develop patient treatment plan; including Preventative, endodontic, Periodontal, Restorative, Prosthetic and follow up care. Refer out complex Endodontic, Surgical and Periodontal treatment. Perform and complete the remaining portion of treatment plan. Typically, all or nearly all of the treatment plan should be done "in house". The specific procedures which the applicant is expected to be proficient in and expected to perform are: amalgam and composite restorations, single and double canal Endodontic therapy, extraction of erupted teeth and roots either routinely or simple surgical procedures. prophylaxis, periodontal scaling & root planing. A significant portion of the applicant’s responsibility will be Pediatric Dentistry without Nitrous Oxide. This will include Preventative, Restorative and Surgical care on cooperative children. Space maintainers and Removable single tooth movement appliances should be planned and performed. Exercises direct supervision of the assigned/designated dental assistants Attend dental provider meetings and participate in case study discussions Provide professional consultation to other staff dentists when needed Perform other duties as assigned by the Dental Director/Practice Manager Qualifications An interest in treating less fortunate, needy patients. Providing emergency, preventative and basic restorative care Graduate from an accredited Dental School/Doctoral Degree (DDS/DMD) California State Dental License - in the application process or current New licensed graduates are welcome to apply. 1-3 years of dental care experience preferred DEA certificate CPR certification Experience with Electronic Dental Records and digital radiography required Strong communication and interpersonal skills Bilingual in Spanish strongly recommended. Additional Requirements Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment; and TB clearance, to be renewed every year.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a DDS/DMD degree and a California State Dental License with at least 3 years of experience. Required certifications include DEA and CPR, along with proficiency in electronic dental records and digital radiography.
