About the role

Perform pediatric dental cleanings, X-rays, and preventative treatments for children. Provide oral health education to patients and parents while maintaining accurate patient records.

Registered Dental Hygienist Brooker Memorial is a patient-focused dental practice focused on providing high-quality care to children throughout Litchfield County in our Torrington clinic and school-based programs. We are seeking a skilled and dynamic dental hygienist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional clinical and communication skills, a gentle touch, a passion for working with young patients, and a commitment to access for care.

Job Responsibilities Patient Care

  • Perform pediatric dental cleanings, scaling, and polishing Apply fluoride treatments and sealants to prevent cavities Take, develop, and review dental X-rays Conduct oral health assessments and document findings Assist the dentist with exams and treatments as needed Address dental anxiety by creating a welcoming and reassuring environment Oral Health Education Teach proper brushing, flossing, and oral hygiene techniques Educate patients and parents on dietary choices and habits affecting oral health Provide guidance on gum disease prevention and cavity control Other Responsibilities Demonstrate empathy and respect for diverse patient populations Update and manage patient records and treatment plans Follow infection control and safety protocols Collaborate with dentists and the dental team to ensure high-quality patient care Participate in continuing education opportunities to stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in pediatric dentistry
  • Experience &
  • Qualifications: Registered Dental Hygienist, current CT RDH license required CPR certified, or ability to obtain certification Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a patient-focused approach Ability to work collaboratively with a team of dental professionals Minimum of one-year experience in a private dental office or clinic; experience with children and adolescents preferred

  • Summer
  • Hours: 7:45 a.m.-1:00 pm
  • Fall-Spring
  • Hours 7:45
  • AM- 2:00 pm. Optional extra hours

Requirements

Must be a Registered Dental Hygienist with a current CT RDH license and CPR certification. Requires at least one year of experience in a dental clinic, with a preference for experience with children and adolescents.
