Job Description: Summary:
Position responsibilities
Assures that the CVL procedural rooms are prepared to receive patients, ensuring room is stocked and all emergency equipment is checked.
Assists with preparing patients for procedure; connects to monitoring equipment, positions patient on table, verifies pt ID per hospital policy and educates patient on procedure to be performed.
Adheres to proper aseptic/sterile technique when prepping table, draping pt, performing skin prep for vascular or open access and donning sterile gown, gloves and mask.
Demonstrates ability to perform scub duties as directed by physician. Able to prepare equipment and assist with the insertion/manipulation of guidewires, catheters and other such equipment into the vasculature under fluoroscopy. Inject contrast manually or mechanically under the direction of the physician.
Demonstrates ability to perform monitoring duties such as accurately completing the procedural report, documenting all hemodynamic data and ensuring all images cross to the network.
Properly charges for supplies and procedures performed and completes data sheet for reconciliation.
Adheres to hospital policies regarding radiation safety.
Demonstrates competency in sheath removal and application of TR Band and Femostop.
Demonstrates ability to operate imaging equipment including movement of table and gantry, adjusting magnification, DSA, run-offs, measurements, etc.
Responds to call-backs within allotted time frame.
Assists in emergency situations.
Sets up and operates all ancillary procedural equipment.
Maintains current annual departmental competencies and licenses/certifications.
Competent in two or more modalities (cardiac, structural heart, EP, device implants, IR, NIR, CT, bedside procedures)
