About the role

Perform high-quality CT and X-ray procedures while providing direct patient care and maintaining clinical workflow. Responsible for entering charges into the Radiology Information System and adhering to safety and service excellence standards.

Description

In accordance with the mission of Diley Ridge Medical Center,

Performs CT procedures of a technical level consistent with optimal image quality.

Performs a variety of technical and non-technical tasks and direct patient care activities requiring independent judgment and initiative.

Functioning in the spirit of teamwork and cooperation, responsible and accountable for the delivery of care and services to patients served within the Medical Center campus, this may include acceptance of duties, responsibilities and/or special projects not specified within this Job Description.

Job Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ) • Education

  • High School Diploma Required. Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Program associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • License /
  • Certification: Registered as a Radiographer by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry eligible. Valid State of Ohio Radiological License required. CT / MRI registry preferred.
  • Experience: 2 or more years in imaging preferred
  • Effective Communication Skills
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Able to perform professional duties with minimal supervision.

Essential responsibilities

Meets population specific and all other competencies according to department requirements.

Promotes a Culture of Safety by adhering to policy, procedures and plans that are in place to prevent workplace injury, violence or adverse outcome to associates and patients.

Relationship-based Care: Creates a caring and healing environment that keeps the patient and family at the center of care throughout their experience at Diley Ridge Medical Center following the principles of our interdisciplinary care delivery system.

Provides patient care, ensures an environment of patient safety, promotes evidence-based practice and quality initiatives and exhibits professionalism within established Radiology and Imaging National standards.

Responsible for entering on-line charges in the computer system (Radiology Information System-RIS) and accountable for charges as specified by the Administrative Policy. Ensures a high level of accuracy.

Critical Responsibilities

Performs a variety of CT / X-ray procedures both professional and non-clinical consistent with optimal image quality.

Performs diagnostic x-ray exams with consistent and optimal image quality.

Performs a variety of exams and is experienced in at least one modality with minor experience in another or willing to be trained based on licensure.

Assists with Medical staff duties as possible to maintain workflow through the departments

Other Job Responsibilities

  • Not responsible for supervisory duties but may be designated as Acting Supervisor or Take-Charge Supervisor in the absence of the Diagnostic Imaging Lead.
  • Responsible for compliance with Organizational Integrity through raising questions and promptly reporting actual or potential wrongdoing.
  • Participates in and coordinates with organizational process to collect and evaluate information about hazards and safety practices that are used to identify safety management issues. Adheres to established policies and procedures, which may include wearing of personal protective equipment.
  • Participates in and fosters a performance improvement approach that includes both intradepartmental and interdepartmental activities.
  • Fulfills on-call coverage requirement and participates in the weekend & holiday rotations.
  • Assists in maintaining supplies.
  • Accepts other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

Requires a High School Diploma and ARRT registration with a valid State of Ohio Radiological License. CPR certification is mandatory, and 2 or more years of imaging experience is preferred.
