An Ultrasound Technologist uses specialized imaging equipment to create diagnostic images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. These images assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. The technologist ensures patient comfort, safety, and accurate image acquisition.
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations as ordered by physicians Prepare and position patients for procedures, explaining the process clearly Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality images Identify normal and abnormal anatomy and document findings Analyze images and provide preliminary technical impressions to physicians Maintain accurate patient records and imaging documentation Follow infection control, safety, and patient privacy regulations (HIPAA) Assist physicians during ultrasound-guided procedures when required Ensure proper care and maintenance of ultrasound equipment General exams, US Color Flow Doppler Echo, TEE and Vascular.
Completion of a program in ultrasound from an accredited Ultrasound School. 3-5 years of experience in performing ultrasound procedures acceptable. Must be ARDMS registered or registry eligible.
