About this role

  • As a General Surgeon at Cedar City Hospital [https://intermountainhealthcare.org/locations/cedar-city-hospital], you’ll help establish a new employed general surgery practice alongside another experienced surgeon. In this role, you’ll practice in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, maintaining a balanced mix of clinic and operating room time while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across a broad range of general surgery conditions. This role includes coordinating pre- and post-operative care and utilizing a full spectrum of surgical approaches, including minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery, as well as traditional methods.
  • Typical schedule includes two clinic days and two OR days per week
  • Shared call coverage with expectations dependent on team size
  • Opportunity to discuss additional clinical interests, with emphasis on maintaining balanced case volumes

What you’ll bring

  • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in General Surgery
  • ACGME-accredited residency training in General Surgery
  • Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one
  • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process

The population of Cedar City is approximately 40,000.
