Provides direct patient care and support by performing selected nursing procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Assists medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients on a telemetry unit.
Unit Description: 4H is a 20 bed telemetry unit, with 3 beds admitting progressive care populations (PCU). This unit specializes in post-op CABG patients, post-op cardiac surgery, valve replacement/repair, vascular surgeries, CHF and moderate risk chest pain patients. The population has multiple co-morbidities and complex care. The patient population is transferred from ICU, ED, and PACU.
Shift: Part Time, Nights
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member: Provides direct patient care and related support by performing selected nursing procedures. Performs routine duties to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients. Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education. Must provide a letter from their school verifying the completion of their first year clinicals. Basic Life Support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don’t have it already.
