At Appalachian Community Services, we are looking for compassionate and skilled Part-time Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our Behavioral Health Urgent Care (BHUC) team. As a BHUC LPN, you will provide essential crisis care, assist individuals through critical moments, and deliver client-centered, solution-focused nursing support.   • LPN, you will: Conduct telephonic screenings to assess appropriateness for admission. Perform nursing screenings upon arrival, including pregnancy tests, urine drug screens, and breathalyzers. Collaborate with prescribers to review clinical information and determine medication needs or alternative care options. Prepare, administer, and monitor prescribed medications. Provide ongoing medical oversight throughout an individual’s stay. This description outlines the general scope and level of work for this role. It is not intended to include every duty or responsibility that may be required of employees in this position. Compensation This position is a fixed rate, with compensation aligned to role responsibilities, experience, and contract parameters.

Compensation

$28.84 What You Can Expect Provide crisis care and support to individuals in behavioral health emergencies. Complete admission screenings and basic medical assessments. Work with providers to help determine treatment and medication needs. Administer medications and monitor clients throughout their stay. Responsibilities Conduct admission and nursing screenings for incoming clients. Administer and monitor prescribed medications. Collaborate with healthcare providers to support client care plans. Provide ongoing nursing care and crisis support during client stays.

QualificationsMinimum

Requirements: Graduated from an Approved Nursing Program Active LPN Licensure through the North Carolina Board of Nursing.

Knowledge of behavioral health principles and crisis intervention. Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a crisis setting. Requirements
