We provide a wide range of walk-in, psychiatric, substance abuse, and crisis services to adults and children.

About the Role

Are you ready to make a difference in someone’s life? Appalachian Community Services (ACS), an ncgCARE partner, is seeking compassionate, motivated, and energetic Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team. In this rewarding role, you’ll provide care, support, and companionship to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), helping them accomplish their goals and reach their fullest potential. Assist individuals in developing new skills and achieving their goals as outlined in their Person-Centered Plan (PCP). Provide and maintain a safe, supportive environment for clients in the community. Use positive reinforcement and behavior modification techniques to encourage growth. Help clients advocate for themselves in their place of employment, during social events or in the community Complete accurate documentation of services provided. Collaborate with a Team Leader and IDD Program Director for guidance and support. This description outlines the general scope and level of work for this role. It is not intended to include every duty or responsibility that may be required of employees in this position. Compensation This position is a fixed rate, with compensation aligned to role responsibilities, experience, and contract parameters.

  • QualificationsQualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Current and active Driver's license Minimum age requirement of 18 years. Compassionate and caring attitude with a strong work ethic and effective communication skills. Ability to pass a background check and drug screen. Physical ability to work in a variety of environments, including navigating stairs and other barriers in private residences.
