Category: Nursing - PPECPOSITION SUMMARY The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Direct Care Staff provides supportive care to medically fragile children in the Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) environment under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role assists with daily living activities, safety monitoring, basic clinical support, and maintaining a nurturing, developmentally appropriate environment in accordance with Florida PPEC regulations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with feeding, hygiene, diapering, grooming, dressing, and positioning.
Support safe mobility and comfort of children throughout the day.
Monitor and report changes in patient condition to the supervising RN.
Support emergency response and infection control procedures.
Maintain a clean and safe environment, including equipment and supplies.
Assist with developmental and social stimulation activities as appropriate.

Certified Nursing Assistant CNA, Medical Assistant, EMT, or relevant pediatric care experience.
Minimum one year experience caring for infants or toddlers.
Current CPR certification.
Successful background screening and TB clearance in accordance with state requirements.
Ability to follow instructions and work under RN supervision. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to lift, assist, kneel, bend, and position medically fragile children safely.
Ability to stand and move for extended periods throughout the shift.
Visual and auditory ability to monitor children and their equipment.
Manual dexterity to assist with feeding and care tasks. COMPLIANCE STATEMENT This position adheres to Florida PPEC regulatory requirements and organizational standards. The CNA, Direct Care Staff must complete ongoing competency training, maintain CPR certification, and follow emergency preparedness, infection control, and pediatric safety protocols at all times.
Requires a CNA, Medical Assistant, or EMT certification with at least one year of experience caring for infants or toddlers. Must have current CPR certification and pass background and TB screenings.
