About the role

Supports MRI technologists by preparing patients, managing room setup, and ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols. Assists with clinical tasks such as vein puncture, contrast administration, and basic x-rays as certified.

Description The Imaging Assistant, Magnetic Resonance supports MRI technologists and radiology staff in providing safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care during magnetic resonance imaging procedures.

This role assists with patient preparation, transportation, room setup, equipment readiness, and administrative support to ensure smooth workflow within the MRI department.

Key Responsibilities: Assist MRI technologists with preparing patients for imaging procedures.

Escort and transport patients to and from the MRI department safely.

Verify patient identity and assist with pre-screening questionnaires.

Ensure patients remove all metal objects and comply with MRI safety requirements.

Prepare examination rooms and maintain cleanliness between patients.

Stock supplies, linens, contrast materials, and other necessary equipment.

Help position patients under the direction of the MRI technologist.

Monitor patient comfort and report any concerns immediately.

Assist with paperwork and electronic medical record documentation.

Maintain strict adherence to MRI safety protocols and infection control standards.

Support emergency procedures and patient assistance as needed.

Communicate professionally with patients, families, physicians, and staff.

Ensure imaging suites are organized and ready for daily operations.

Vein puncture Assist with contrast administration Perform limited x-rays in the dept as certification allows.

Requirements

Applicants must possess a degree in radiologic technology from an accredited college or university and must pass the ARRT certification exam or the ARMRIT (ARRT preferred- (ARRT RT(R)) or MRI (ARRT(MR)). Required to be licensed by the state of Arkansas. Required to have BLS Certification. Must have knowledge of MRI Procedures and have passed MRI safety training. Xray or CT experience a plus. Previous clinical experience in Radiology, patient care, or hospital setting preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. IV competency or certification required. Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment. Ability to lift and assist in moving patients safely.
