Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Chaplain, you will serve as a vital spiritual leader and compassionate caregiver within our hospital community, providing essential spiritual counseling and support to patients, families, and staff.Every day, you will provide direct spiritual, religious, and existential care, offering compassionate presence, support, and appropriate rituals to patients, families, and staff, especially during times of crisis or grief.

You will collaborate with the healthcare team to advocate for spiritual needs and integrate holistic care, ensuring respect for diverse beliefs.

To be successful in this role, you must be a highly compassionate individual, comfortable and skilled in engaging with people who may be emotional, panicked, stressed, or in pain.

You'll need the proven ability to provide empathetic care, adapt to diverse spiritual needs, and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Provides pastoral care, to patients and families in a timely manner and serves as a professional spiritual care resource Maintains accurate documentation in patient charts regarding spiritual care interventions, plans, and outcomes Advocates for patient rights in regard to spiritual, cultural, and psychosocial values and how they impact a patient and their support system response to their care Supports an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care by participating in team meetings and rounds Provides education to patients and families about spiritual resources, advance directives, organ and tissue donation, ethics, and other spiritual issues that may arise Participates in ritual, worship, and sacramental needs of patients, family and staff Job Requirements Required Master's degree in Theology, Pastoral Care/Counseling, Divinity, OR a Master's degree recognized by the endorser for minority religious groups (must provide letter of approval for degree from endorser) Board Certified Chaplain APC, within 24 - months of hire Clinical Pastoral Education: 4 units of CPE (1600 hours) in an accredited ACPE hospital center Good standing requires maintenance of continuing education and peer review requirements for renewal of certification while observing a professional code of ethics required by your Professional Organizational Standards Preferred One (1) to Three (3) years of chaplaincy experience in a hospital or healthcare setting

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Theology, Pastoral Care, or Divinity and have completed 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE). Board Certification as a Chaplain (APC) is required within 24 months of hire.
