About the role

Provide clinical and administrative support in a pediatric setting, including checking vitals, rooming patients, and assisting with procedures. Handle front office tasks such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, and managing patient data in EPIC.

This is a benefited, full-time position generally working Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch.

The schedule also includes 3 to 4 Saturdays per month.

The position is located in Oceanside at the Jefferson Clinic.

What you'll do: The ideal candidate will be dependable, self-motivated, and a team player looking to join a group that is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

In this role you will assist the department clinically as a Medical Assistant and support the team with front office responsibilities such as answering phones, scheduling, and call backs when needed.

Clinically, you will support our providers by checking patient vitals, rooming patients, stocking patient rooms, assisting with procedures and providing patient education as needed.

The MA maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment, and organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice.

This includes the following: Checking patients in and out with administrative duties as needed assisting in preparing patients for examination/procedures assisting physicians with procedures relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person collecting patient data in person and by phone and documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review administering medications specifically directed by the physician performing vital sign documentation scheduling of appointments and procedures complete and accurate message taking routing messages to the appropriate area for direction order and referral entry acquisition of pre-certifications and setting up of cases in EPIC basic registration and updating of demographics

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills

  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman

Requirements
