The therapist provides mental health assessments, diagnosis, and evidence-based trauma treatment for children who have experienced abuse and their non-offending families. Responsibilities include coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, facilitating therapeutic groups, and ensuring compliance with National Children's Alliance Standards.
Position: Part-Time/Job-Share, potential full-time
The child and family therapist will provide mental health clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children who have experienced abuse, as well as support for their non-offending family members. Therapy provided at the center is evidence-based trauma-focused cognitive behavior therapy for children and adolescents and is provided in an age-appropriate and developmentally appropriate manner. Caregiver involvement is essential to the therapy modalities provided at the Center.
Training: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a mental health field, psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field. Oregon Licensure is preferred. If not licensed, supervision toward licensure will be provided through our regional child advocacy center. Certificate in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy TF-CBT, or willingness to pursue said training.
Three years of responsible professional mental health experience, including experience working with a population that has experienced trauma. Experience working with child victims of abuse is preferred. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Light work: exerting 1-20 lbs. of force frequently and up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally. Repetitive motions--frequent use of upper and/or lower extremities in repetitive motion to use the computer and telephone. Ability to communicate in-person and via technology, one-to-one, and in groups of all sizes.
This is a part-time position with the potential of full-time. This position is based in an office setting and may require travel for professional development and training.
