Job summary

The Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and treatment of patient care under the supervision of a licensed physician, in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice.

  • Essential functions
  • Provide outpatient medical consultation services under physician supervision
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions for new and established patients
  • Conduct follow-up care and ongoing patient management
  • Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies
  • Prescribe medications and initiate specialty referrals as appropriate
  • Participate in rotating on-call coverage for after-hours emergency phone calls
  • Administer and order medications and treatments
  • Complete accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Perform comprehensive patient physicals and preventive care services
  • Provide patient and family education regarding conditions and treatment plans
  • Supervise and coordinate patient care support staff within the clinic
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in accordance with the Nurse Protocol Agreement

  • Required qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in Primary Care, Family Practice, or Urgent Care (required)
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies (required)
  • Current Georgia licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Certified Physician Assistant (required)
  • Current board certification (AANP or ANCC for NPs; NCCPA for PAs) (required)
  • DEA registration or eligibility to obtain (preferred)
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team-based setting
