Provide specialized inpatient care for patients recovering from cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, including heart and lung transplants. Manage high-acuity patients in a transitional unit and utilize skills in cardiac telemetry and advanced life support tools.
Full-time 12 Hour Rotating Shift 5 Tower (Cardiac Surgery & Step-Down Unit): is a 32-bed inpatient, private room unit specializing in care for post-op cardiovascular surgery, thoracic surgery, lung transplants, heart transplants, and advanced heart failure (LVADs). This unit is unique in that we also have a 6-bed transitional unit with higher acuity patients that require specialized care. The nurses on this unit will learn several skills, including, but not limited to cardiac telemetry, cardiac drips, chest tubes, and external pacers.
