The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist operates MRI scanners to create 3D images of a patient's body tissues which are used by physicians and other healthcare professionals as an aid to diagnosis. This position assists in the training of students and technologists in MRI and performs injection procedures, including administering gadolinium contrast dosage intravenously. The Technologist maintains optimum timeliness, accuracy, proficiency, efficiency, and safety during the execution of duties, and works closely with patients to ensure they have an understanding of MRI procedures and are comfortable during procedures.

What you can expect

Collaborate on patient medical issues with the physician to determine protocol and procedure.
Complete all MIR exams and procedures, obtaining optimal images for physician review according to policy and protocol.
Obtain and record patient identification, medical history, or test results.
Obtain and review all history of ferrous implants and other possible contraindication for scanning in a magnetic field.
Perform venous punctures using universal precautions while administering contrast media.
Practice established safety guidelines and use mire safety tools and techniques.
Assume responsibility for self-development.
Clean, maintain, and restock examination and inventory rooms.
Travel is required: Up to 20%

Requires ARRT-MR, ARMIT, or ARRT certification and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. An associate's degree in MRI and one year of experience are preferred.
