About the role

Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our primary care team on a part-time basis at our Bledsoe County clinic in Pikeville, TN. This provider will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals and families within the community, supporting both preventive and acute healthcare needs. The ideal candidate is committed to improving health outcomes in a rural setting and thrives in a collaborative, patient-focused environment. The NP/PA will provide comprehensive primary care services including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions. The provider will conduct routine wellness visits, preventive screenings, and follow-up care, ensuring continuity and quality of care for patients across the lifespan. Responsibilities include developing and implementing treatment plans, prescribing medications in accordance with Tennessee regulations, and interpreting diagnostic tests and lab results.

This position is involved in a team-based approach to care.

Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee guidelines.

Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to coordinate care for patients and is trained and assigned to support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change.

Is trained and assigned (as per their role and responsibilities) to manage the practices' patient population.

Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.

Education

Required: Graduate of a Physician Assistant Program accredited by the American Academy of Physician Assistant or Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program

Experience

Required: One to three years experience in primary care setting.

  • License/Certification/Registration
  • Required: Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician's Assistants. Performs under current legislation of the State of Tennessee (HB 1601, Public Chapter #719).
