COTA — SOUTHEAST MICHIGAN ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Miller Vein is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and patient-focused Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing Swelling & Lymphedema Program in Southeast Michigan. You do not need to be a Certified Lymphedema Therapist to apply. We will pay for your CLT certification training. If you're a licensed COTA who is excited to build a specialized skill set in lymphedema care, we'll invest in you and provide the training at no cost to you. This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside Certified Lymphedema Therapists, physicians, and clinical staff in a physician-owned practice dedicated to improving the lives of patients suffering from lymphedema, lipedema, venous disease, chronic swelling, and related conditions. As demand for our services continues to grow, we are looking for a team-oriented clinician who builds strong patient relationships, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is excited to help expand access to care throughout Southeast Michigan. Responsibilities

Following completion of your CLT certification training, you will:

  • Perform Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and apply multi-layer compression bandaging as part of Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) under the direction of the supervising OT/CLT
  • Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising OT/CLT for patients with lymphedema, lipedema, and related swelling conditions
  • Provide patient education on lymphedema management, swelling reduction, compression therapy, skin care, and long-term self-management strategies
  • Assist patients with compression garment fitting, donning/doffing instruction, and ongoing education
  • Support pneumatic compression device training and patient instruction
  • Monitor patient progress and communicate findings to the supervising OT/CLT and physicians
  • Document treatments and patient progress accurately and efficiently in the EMR
  • Assist with patient follow-up and ongoing care coordination
  • Travel between Miller Vein clinic locations throughout Southeast Michigan as needed
  • Serve as an active member of the clinical team by supporting clinic operations, patient flow, and other responsibilities necessary to deliver an exceptional patient experience
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development opportunities

Qualifications

  • Required
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
  • Current Michigan COTA licensure
  • Commitment to completing CLT certification training (provided and paid for by Miller Vein)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-first approach
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently within a supervised practice model while collaborating effectively with the clinical team
  • Positive, team-first attitude and willingness to contribute wherever needed
  • Passion for delivering compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Preferred
  • Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT) certification from an accredited program
  • Experience with Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and multi-layer compression bandaging
  • Experience working with lymphedema, lipedema, edema management, wound care, vascular medicine, or related specialties
  • Experience with compression garment fitting and patient education
  • Familiarity with EMR documentation platforms
  • Comfort working across multiple clinic locations

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program with current Michigan COTA licensure. Candidates must be committed to completing CLT certification training provided by the company.
