About the role

Perform radiographic diagnostic imaging examinations on patients according to provider orders with high accuracy. Ensure patient safety by following radiation protection guidelines and maintaining detailed documentation.

Radiography Technologist: 3000 Radiology General

Schedule

Night shift. 36 hours. Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. 1730-6a. On call rotation.

About the Position

The Radiography Technologist supports the Reid Health Mission, Vision, Values, and Key Service Behaviors. The Radiography Technologist performs radiographic diagnostic imaging examinations on patients per physician/provider orders with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.

  • Overview of Responsibilities
  • Competently operates radiographic equipment
  • Accurately evaluates requests for radiographic procedures
  • Obtains patient history and symptoms
  • Performs radiographic procedures per provider orders
  • Provides care appropriate to the age-specific needs of the patients served
  • Provides explanation and instruction to patients regarding radiographic procedures
  • Demonstrates effective communication with patients and families
  • Accurately performs appropriate documentation
  • Follows radiation safety policies and guidelines
  • Takes responsibility for personal radiation safety and exposure monitoring
  • Appropriately uses radiation protection devices
  • Participates in quality assurance and quality improvement activities
  • Assists in the clinical instruction of radiography students

Education & Experience

Graduate of an approved, 24-month program in Radiologic Technology accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT)

Additional radiology education would be nice to have.

A minimum of 2 years in an accredited educational program

Additional experience as a licensed Radiography Technologist after completing the

Licensure & Certification

Radiologic Technologist license issued by the Indiana Department of Health

Certification and Registry in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT.

Current in BLS certification.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of a JRCERT-accredited Radiologic Technology program with a valid Indiana state license and ARRT certification. Current BLS certification is required, and additional radiology education is preferred.
