About the role

The intern will provide one-on-one and group counseling for adolescents with substance abuse and behavioral issues. They are responsible for maintaining clinical documentation, assessments, and progress reports according to Medicaid standards.

At Easterseals PORT Health, we’re seeking a compassionate and dedicated Intern to join our team at our Adolescent Residential Home . As a valued member of our collaborative and supportive team, you will work together to transform the lives of individuals by providing a comprehensive range of services that treat the whole person and empower patients to find their way forward.

What You’ll Do

Easterseals PORT Health provides one-on-one and group counseling for clients with substance abuse and/or behavioral issues. As an intern, you will complete your rotations, practicum or internship as part of our treatment team. You will maintain clinical documentation according to program and Medicaid standards regarding service provision, assessment, and progress reports in a supportive environment focused on your growth and learning as well as patient healing.

  • To join our team, you must be currently enrolled in a Human Services program. To be successful in your internship, you must possess the below skills:
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office and internet applications
  • Strong interpersonal skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to carry out assigned projects to completion
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
