We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate medical assistant to join our busy orthopedic practice. The medical assistant works closely with our doctors and advanced practicing providers to ensure smooth and efficient clinical operations. This position includes both clinical and administrative duties to help provide patients with the best care possible. With four locations some travel is required.
Strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive, patient-centered attitude.
Adhere to hospital, department and compliance policies, procedures, regulations and laws (OSHA, DEA, CLIA, etc.).
Act in a professional and courteous manner with the public, patients, families and coworkers.
Assist the providers with the administrative aspects of their position to ensure the efficient operation of the office on a day-to-day basis.
Maintain confidentiality of peers, medical staff and all patient information.
Maintain provider appointment scheduling and any changes to their schedules.
Implement physician orders under physician direction and notify patients of results as directed by physician.
All other duties as assigned.
High school diploma completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent clinical training.
Preferred certification: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or similar certification preferred but not required. Certification program available for candidates with appropriate clinical experience.
Required certification - BLS
Fast-paced healthcare setting.
Requires standing for long periods
Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, and direct patient interaction.
Exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, bodily fluids, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
