Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital is a 26 bed facility serving the community since 1951 with a comprehensive range of inpatient and outpatient services. For more than 60 years, Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital has provided access to health care close to home for the families of Ulysses, Kansas and surrounding communities. Services include Case Management, CT Scan, Diabetic education, dietary consult, EEG/EKG, emergency care, laboratory, MRI, mammography, nuclear medicine, obstetrics (prenatal, postpartum, delivery), midwifery, primary and specialty clinics, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory therapy, surgery, swing beds, and ultrasound. Job Summary and Responsibilities As a National Nurse Resident, you’ll step into a hands-on, supportive experience designed to help you grow and build confidence from day one. You won’t be on your own. You can expect real mentorship, meaningful feedback, and a team invested in your long-term success.Every day, you’ll collaborate with physicians and a multidisciplinary team to deliver care that sees each patient as an individual. You’ll administer treatments, track vitals, educate patients and families, and play a key role in making sure people feel seen, heard, and cared for.To succeed in this role, you’ll actively engage in our comprehensive, evidence-based Nurse Residency Program designed to support your growth and professional development. With a strong drive to learn and a team-first mindset, you’ll continue sharpening your skills while building a meaningful, fulfilling nursing career.
Builds skills to utilize current evidence-based practice knowledge, the nursing process, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to provide holistic care to individuals across the lifespan and care continuum.- Basic understanding of and ability to assess ailments and injuries of patients and implement a treatment plan.- Learns to collaborate and communicate with the interprofessional team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.- Basic understanding of and ability to provide clinical skills necessary for patient care, e.g., history taking, therapeutic planning, and monitoring, etc., to achieve optimized outcomes in medication therapy and clinical treatment.- Basic understanding and knowledge of the risks faced by patients in a healthcare environment, and the ability to take steps to reduce these risks.- Develops accountability for own practice, delegated care, and the coordination of care delivery. Job Requirements Required Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with a minimum of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing Zero (0) to twelve (12) months of professional nursing (RN) experience Active License as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State in which s/he will be practicing or the state of primary residency if the state is a Nurse Licensure Compact state BLS certification - American Heart Association Additional certifications may be required based on population(s) served and services provided Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with at least an Associate's Degree and a valid RN license. BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.
