Overview This position provides advanced technical, clinical and clerical support within the Imaging department. Responsibilities include managing patient flow, conducting patient screening, assisting patients during procedures, maintaining supplies, and supporting technologists as needed. This role also includes remote cardiac monitoring for patients undergoing MRI when they are off nursing units.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Patient Interaction & Prepo Transports Patiento Verify patient identity using two identifiers.o Complete and document pre-procedure screening (e.g., contrast consent)o Educate patients about the procedure and address questionso Communicate readiness to remote technologisto Monitor telemetry patients during exam Physical Setupo Position the patient correctly on the scanner tableo Prepare positioning aidso Loads contrast injector Contrast Administrationo Place and manage IV lineso Administer contrast or medications under direct supervisiono Monitor for adverse reactions and initiate emergency response if needed Emergency Readinesso Initiate BLS protocols if requiredo Escalate to on-site technologists, physician or EMS per facility protocol Communicationo Maintain continuous two-way communication with the remote technologist during the scan Complete Exam Data Entry
Education Paramedic - High school diploma/GED and a graduate of an accredited paramedic program. Required or LPN – High school diploma or GED plus completion of an accredited LPN program. Required or 2nd Year Rad Tech – High school diploma or GED Required Work Experience Prior experience as a paramedic or LPN Required Recent experience in cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia interpretation Required Licenses and Certifications Paramedic Certification Required or LPN license Required or 2nd year Rad Tech Required BLS certification Business
