About the role

Provide respiratory care to stabilize and remedy patient problems using oxygen and therapeutic gas equipment. Perform ABG analysis and implement ventilator weaning and MDI protocols for patients of all ages.

Description for Internal Candidates

Under general supervision and according to established procedure specific to age and upon order of a physician provides respiratory care designed to stabilize, prevent or remedy patient respiratory problems.

In doing so, arranges and operates a variety of oxygen and other therapeutic gas equipment in order to safely administer prescribed doses of medical gases and aerosolized drugs to patients.

Checks equipment regularly for proper functioning and records data obtained during therapy and diagnostic testing in patient charts.

Draws, analyzes, and reports ABGs to physicians and nurses.

Involved with adult ventilator weaning protocol and MDI protocol.

Participates in embracing excellence and relationship-based care.

Pay transparency

St. Joseph’s Health provides a salary range to comply with New Jersey Law. The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc.” The salary range does not include incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.

Requirements

Must be a graduate of an approved A.M.A. school for Respiratory Therapy. Requires certification as a Respiratory Therapist and a valid license from the New Jersey State Board of Respiratory Care.
