About the role

The staff nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, including assessment, planning, and evaluation. They are responsible for coordinating patient care activities and maintaining professional standards of practice within the organization.

Our 7-bed unit, with an integrated OR and PACU, supports 30–40 deliveries each month and provides comprehensive care for a wide range of patients and obstetric needs—from triage and labor to surgical delivery, recovery, postpartum, newborn nursery, and gynecologic care.

Our team thrives on strong prioritization, professionalism, and collaboration to provide safe, patient-centered care.

Staffing ratios are thoughtfully guided by patient acuity and volume: 1:1 in active labor and OR/recovery, 2:1 for patients on magnesium therapy, and 3:1 for couplet care.

These ratios reflect our commitment to maintaining the highest standards while adjusting to clinical realities as needed.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care for patients. He/she functions within the framework of the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. The staff nurse is responsible for maintaining standards of practice, coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff in the provision of quality nursing care.

Qualifications

Education Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required Bachelor’s Degree Preferred Work Experience No experience required New Graduates of a nursing program eligible Required Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions Preferred Licenses and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License. Required and BCLS - Basic Life Support Required Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum) Business

Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with a valid Georgia State or Multistate RN license and BCLS certification. A Bachelor's degree and previous hospital experience are preferred, though new graduates are eligible.
