A reasonable estimate of the current range is $23.00/HR-$25.00/HR.

Position Summary

This position is essential in maintaining our four-handed dentistry procedures. Participate in chairside activities involving patient contact and explanation of treatment. In addition, the assistant will enable the dentist to be more efficient by carrying out specific tasks. Essential Functions: Welcome patients to the dental office Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures Remove glasses and any prosthetic appliance the patient may have. Take blood pressure and record it on the chart. Helping patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment. Prepare operatory for patients following PPE guidelines. Prepare materials and other necessary diagnostic treatment items necessary for the planned procedure. Follow protocol for instrument sterilization. Follow the chairside instructions of the provider. Chart visits comprehensively and completes E&M coding in compliance with dental coding standards. Fill in the day sheet with the appropriate procedure. Transcribe documentation in EHR as directed by the provider. Maintains a safe environment in the operatory. Identify items needed to keep inventory fully stocked. Lab case organization for assigned providers. Assist the front desk staff and treatment coordinator with responding to referrals, patient follow-up calls, answering phones, scheduling patients upon check-in and check-out, and other duties as the need may arise. Perform all opening, closing, and maintenance procedures as described in sterilization and maintenance policies. Work with multiple providers, as needed. Practice four-handed dentistry Diagnostic Quality X-Rays Preliminary Impressions Compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations, as they pertain to the position including HIPAA, sexual harassment, Scope of Practice, OSHA, etc. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsMinimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Dental x-ray Certification and experience 8 hr. Infection Control Certification Dental Practice Act Certification Current CPR

Preferred Qualifications

Graduating from dental assistant school is preferred Experience with NextGen or other electronic dental record systems required. Experience with Dental billing Experience with Denti-Cal guidelines Experience in an FQHC setting Knowledge of traditional, cultural and spiritual practices of the diverse AI/AN community, as well as ability to work with other racially, culturally, ethnically, and financially diverse populations. Continued employment is contingent upon renewed or additional funding and may be discontinued at the close of the grant cycle. Grant funding for any position does not impart any contractual right, either expressed or implied, to remain in Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc.’s employment for a specific period of time. Grant funding does not affect the Sacramento Native American Health Center, Inc.’s status as an “at will” employer.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma and certifications in Dental X-ray, Infection Control, Dental Practice Act, and CPR. Experience with NextGen EHR and working in an FQHC setting is preferred.
