The Licensed Massage Therapist provides direct patient massage therapy treatments as determined by referring providers while maintaining high quality care. They are also responsible for patient evaluation, family teaching, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to maintain professional practice standards.
The staff Licensed Massage Therapist functions under the supervision of the rehabilitation leadership team and the department director. The Licensed Massage Therapist assumes responsibility and accountability for providing direct patient/client massage therapy treatment as determined by the referring provider in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies, maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care.
The Licensed Massage Therapist requires skills in patient/client evaluation, treatment, and observation to accurately address patients/clients need; provides patient/client and family teaching; and works cooperatively with other patient/client team personnel in maintaining standards for professional massage therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork. These functions are carried out according to hospital policy in accordance with the mission and vision of the hospital and consistent with the philosophy of the department.
The Licensed Massage Therapist participates in performance improvement and supports program development activities. Responsibilities include providing input into the budgetary planning process; contributing to cost effectiveness of services and programs provided by the department; communicating the employee's observations and suggestions related to opportunities for improvement; and maintaining positive relations with all customers.

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. Candidates must be a graduate of a massage therapy school and hold a Washington state license and American Heart Association BLS certification. Oregon licensure and specialized massage training are preferred.
