About the role

Provide basic homemaking services including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and grocery shopping for elderly and disabled clients. Assist with health-related stand-by services as authorized by the PACE Interdisciplinary Team.

Position requirements

Must be at least 18 years or older, able to read, write, and understand English for task performance, be physically capable of performing required tasks, have a valid Social Security number, driver’s license, and own transportation. Must be medically cleared of communicable disease, pass a drug test, and undergo a criminal background check. Graduation from high school or equivalency is preferred. Preferred training or experience in homemaking, and one year of experience with the elderly or disabled.

SUMMARY

Provides services designed to assist eligible individuals with basic homemaking activities such as cleaning of main living areas, laundry, purchasing and storing groceries, preparing meals, trash disposal, and assisting with mail. May also assist with health-related services to provide stand-by assistance to clients. The Homemaker may be required to provide necessary services as authorized by the PACE Interdisciplinary Team (IDT). Use of therapeutic interpersonal skills in all contacts in the work setting is required. Problems encountered range from routine to complex in nature; significant public contact is required, and the position requires independent decision-making and action.
