Psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (Pmhnp)

Behavioral Healthcare Partners (BHP) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our multidisciplinary team. This position provides psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, and ongoing care for children, adolescents, and adults experiencing mental health and substance use disorders.

Essential responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments.

Diagnose mental health and substance use disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.

Prescribe, administer, and monitor psychiatric medications.

Provide medication education and treatment recommendations to clients and family members.

Respond to behavioral health crises and coordinate referrals for higher levels of care when needed.

Collaborate with therapists, case managers, primary care providers, and other healthcare professionals to support integrated client care.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency, payer, and regulatory requirements.

Provide services through in-person and telehealth appointments as assigned.

Participate in treatment team meetings, trainings, and other professional development activities.

Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing is required.
  • Current Ohio APRN and CNP licensure required.
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification required. Certified by The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) ONLY
  • Current DEA registration required.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Credentialing with Medicaid and commercial insurance plans preferred.
  • Strong assessment, communication, clinical documentation, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative behavioral healthcare environment.

Additional requirements

Candidates must complete a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background check, and verification of employment eligibility. Additional driving-related requirements may apply based on assigned duties.
