About the role

Medical Lab Technicians perform various tests to analyze blood, body fluids, and tissues. They collect specimens, process them, maintain equipment, and adhere to laboratory policies and procedures.

***$15,000.00 Sign-on Bonus (Paid over 2 years)*** Monday - Friday 8a-4

30p with rotation Medical Lab Technicians perform various tests to analyze the blood, body fluids and tissues as ordered by Healthcare personnel. Under the general supervision of departmental section supervisors and/or lead techs, precisely and accurately orders, performs and evaluates technical procedures in the different subsections of the clinical laboratory department. Properly collects blood specimens ensuring patient safety and consistency with age-specific considerations for all patients, neonates, infants, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics as well as employees. Receives, processes, and distributes specimens appropriately and in a timely manner. Properly stores specimens for further testing, as needed. Assists with the training of new employees and students. Maintains equipment and supply inventory. Adheres to laboratory and hospital policies (i.e. attendance, continuing education, dress code, infection control, and patient confidentiality) and procedures. Maintains knowledge and practices current regulatory guidelines. Prepares and participates in processes relating to regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission, CAP and AABB. Follows best practice for infection control in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines.

Requirements

Candidates must have an associate degree or equivalent experience and be a graduate of an accredited medical laboratory technician program. They should also be registered or registry-eligible within one year of hire.
