Rehabilitation Services – Inpatient
Elliot Rehabilitation Services inpatient department is a large multidiscipline department consisting of physical, occupational, and speech therapists that treat patients across the lifespan in a collaborative model with nursing, case management, providers, and other ancillary services. Elliot Hospital is a Level 2 trauma center, a DNV Orthopedic Center of Excellence, and has a Level 3 NICU all of which the rehab department supports with highly trained staff and quality, evidenced based interventions. We support all units of the hospital including ICU, CICU, Pediatrics, Medical Surgical and the ED. The Elliot encourages early mobility, return of function and work with patient centered goals towards optimal discharge outcomes.
About the Job
Acts as an assistant in all areas of clinical support. Assists rehab staff with patient care, cleaning/maintenance of rehab equipment, maintaining efficient clinical operations and clerical duties.
What You’ll Do
Assists rehab staff (PT/OT/SLP) in provision of patient care including, but not limited to, assisting with treatment sessions and patient handling (under direct supervision of therapist), equipment procurement, and instruction and/or set up on equipment.
Maintains inventory control, ordering of equipment and office supplies as needed, stocks supplies, monitors expiration dates on all materials, and monitors insurance authorization on referrals.
Cleans and maintains rehabilitation equipment according to manufacturers, hospital and department policies and procedures.
Completes front desk operations as needed including, but not limited to, answering phones, checking in/ scheduling patients, taking co-pays, registering patient and checking insurance benefits.
Responsible for sending and receiving all rehabilitation documentation to and from providers, to HIM, and insurance companies.
Education and Experience Needs
High School Diploma or equivalent required. CPR certification within 90 days of employment and maintain certification while in position required.
Previous experience in a rehabilitation setting, prior LNA experience or healthcare related experience preferred.
