About the role

The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and assists providers in coordinating patient services. They are also responsible for clinical maintenance, data management, and the use of biomedical equipment.

For over 25 years, Southwest Care Center has been providing exceptional healthcare to the communities of Santa Fe and Albuquerque, NM. We are a non-profit, FQHC-LAL providing medical, behavioral health, case management, community outreach, diabetes education, and pharmacy services. We are proud to offer gender equity medicine, syringe exchange, and HIV/HepC treatment, testing and other services within our communities.

Southwest Care Center is currently seeking a full-time Primary Care Medical Assistant working in our Santa Fe Clinic. Reporting to the Clinic Manager, the Medical Assistant is a critical member of the team. MA interactions with patients set the tone of each visit, create satisfaction, and support positive outcomes.

  • Certification (CCMA, CMA) Preferred

Position Details

Provide direct patient care within the MA's scope of practice as directed by the provider/RN/LPN.

Assist provider/RN/LPN in the coordination of patient care Manages data and prepares reports for supervisors of Southwest CARE Center.

Perform regular clinical maintenance duties.

Travel as needed to the various SCC clinics

Competency in the use and maintenance of biomedical equipment and point-of-care testing.

Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for the delivery of patient care
