About the role

The Insurance Verifier/Estimator is responsible for verifying insurance authorizations for new patients and ensuring eligibility for services. Additional duties include collecting insurance information, notifying patients of estimated charges, and documenting interactions with patients and insurance companies.

INSURANCE VERIFIER/ESTIMATOR-Surgery Center Full Time

Summary of Position

Verify all new patients’ insurance authorizations both primary and secondary payors.

Verify accuracy of data entry for all new patients.

Ensure that all information is gathered and Latern referral is appropriate for the care being potentially provided.

Verify the patient is eligible for service(s) and prior approval has been granted before initiating services.

Provide necessary paperwork to accurately bill accounts; and other duties as assigned.

Collect insurance policy IDs and verifying benefits and checking price estimates for procedures scheduled.

Notify patients of estimated charges based on claims processed to date.

Explain patient’s deductibles and out of pocket expenses as necessary.

Document all contact with patients, doctors, and insurance companies in NextGen

Pre-registration and registration of patients, receiving and directing incoming calls.

Communicate to physician and team regarding patient information

Responsible for alerting vendors of implant needs

Order lunch for physician daily

This role is also the back up person to the front desk.

Hours • General hours are 9

  • 30a-6:00p
  • Front
  • Desk vacation coverage, the role is required to come in at 5:00a-2:00p

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Two years experience in the medical office setting preferably with surgical scheduling responsibilities and extensive public contact.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience as an Insurance Verification Representative.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma and at least two years of experience in a medical office setting, preferably with surgical scheduling. A minimum of one year of experience as an Insurance Verification Representative is also required.
