The Cardiac Sonographer will perform echocardiograms and ultrasounds of the heart while ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to ICAEL standards. This position will perform Echocardiograms on patients in the Cardiology department and other related duties.
Primary Responsibilities: Performs Echocardiograms/Ultrasounds of the heart following standard procedures Documents all readings, measurements and technical information appropriately into the electronic medical record system Dispenses Echocardiogram reports to the assigned Physician for reading and interpretation Ensures the highest quality of patient care while performing the study, ensures ICAEL requirements and standards are met Performs Patient Education following standard procedures Complies with health and safety requirements and with regulatory agencies such as DPH, etc.
Complies with established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives Enhances professional growth and development through educational programs, seminars, etc.
Attends a variety of meetings, conferences, and seminars as required or directed Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed Regular, reliable and predictable attendance will be required You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.
Candidates must hold a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification and American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS). Preferred qualifications include at least two years of experience in adult echo and stress/echo procedures.
