The nurse is responsible for preparing and administering chemotherapy and biologics while assisting oncologists with procedures. Additional duties include patient education, phone triage, and managing medical histories for patients in the hematology/oncology department.
McFarland Clinic is currently accepting applications for RN-Infusion Nurse Float for its Ames office. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.
include: Responsibilities include: Pre-Registration process, rooming patient and preparing patient for provider exam, obtain and document accurate and complete medical history and current medication, assist oncologists with oncologic procedures, administer IM and SQ immunizations. Prepare and administer chemotherapy and biologics, phone triage, assist physicians with clerical work associated with their practice, patient education in the area of treatment and disease management along with traveling with Oncologists to outreach clinics. (FT): 4 - 10 hour days with Saturday rotation
