The MRI Technologist performs diagnostic MRI procedures according to established protocols and administers contrast agents under radiologist direction. They are responsible for ensuring patient safety and providing quality care for patients ranging from infants to adults.
Per Diem Minimum 48 hours in a 6-week schedule; on call and holiday rotation The MR technologist demonstrates an understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, contrast agents, MR safety and medical terminology. Maintains a high degree of accuracy in positioning and technique. The MR technologist performs MRI procedures according to established protocols to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by the physician. Prepares and administers contrast at the direction of the radiologist in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Ensures the delivery of quality care in a safe environment for infant through adult patients. The MR technologist remains sensitive to the physical, cultural and emotional needs of the patient through good communication, patient assessment, patient monitoring, and patient care skills in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner. The MR technologist engages in continuing education to enhance patient care, public education, knowledge and technical competence while embracing lifelong learning.
