The Arizona Humane Society is looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician to care for our pets in the Puppy Parvo ICU at our state-of-the-art Rob and Melani Walton Papago Park Campus and work a schedule of Saturday – Tuesday 9:00 AM – 7:30 PM. Our Puppy Parvo ICU is unique to the valley as we provide ill puppies surrendered to the Arizona Humane Society and those at other shelters with a second chance. You will hold a key role in providing a healing and supportive environment by providing for both the physical and mental health of Puppy Parvo ICU patients through industry-leading complete care. You will assist the veterinarians in the treatment of the animals in the Puppy Parvo ICU which may include radiology, laboratory diagnostics, client education, clinic asepsis, fluid therapy, and the administration of prescribed medications.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There will be exposure to dust, heat, cold and temperature changes; occasional wet floors, and animal noises, odors, and dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air-conditioned and heated office environment.
