About the role

Provide quality therapy services and implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a therapist. Document patient progress in EMR and collaborate with leadership on goals and discharge planning.

This position provides quality therapy services under the guidelines set by the state practice guidelines, Medicare, and Logan Health (LH) policies. Meets legal, ethical and institutional standards while adhering to the philosophy, objectives, policies and procedures of the assigned area(s).

Join a well-respected, collaborative rehabilitation team providing personalized care to patients across the lifespan. Logan Health Whitefish is seeking an experienced Physical Therapy Assistant to support our outpatient rehabilitation clinic on a consistent PRN schedule.

This is an excellent opportunity for a PTA who enjoys building relationships with patients, working alongside a multidisciplinary team, and helping patients make meaningful progress toward their mobility and functional goals.

What you’ll do

As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will provide treatment to patients following individualized plans of care established by the supervising Physical Therapist.

Responsibilities

include:

Delivering safe and effective treatment according to the Physical Therapist’s established plan of care.

Adapting and progressing treatment activities, as appropriate, to help patients achieve their goals and expected outcomes.

Providing care to patients across the lifespan with a wide variety of diagnoses and rehabilitation needs.

Accurately documenting treatments, patient progress and outcomes in the electronic medical record.

Communicating changes in patient status and collaborating with the supervising Physical Therapist and other members of the care team.

Completing required documentation in accordance with payer requirements, department procedures and Montana practice guidelines.

Using rehabilitation equipment, materials and treatment techniques safely and effectively.

Supporting departmental productivity, quality and patient experience standards.

Qualifications

  • Required
  • Graduate of a Physical Therapy Assistant program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Current Montana Physical Therapy Assistant license or temporary Montana PTA license.
  • Current CPR certification, as applicable to the assigned area.
  • Previous experience working in an outpatient physical therapy setting.
  • Strong communication, organization and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality and compassionate communication with patients, families and colleagues.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn electronic medical record and departmental systems.
  • Preferred
  • Previous experience working in an acute care physical therapy setting.
  • Interest in supporting both outpatient and acute care rehabilitation coverage.
  • Three years of Therapy Assistant experience.

Shift

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

PRN day shift, typically one to two days per week.

Consistent availability to work two days per week in the outpatient clinic is preferred. No evenings, weekends, holidays or on-call coverage required.

PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours, offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs. Pay rates and scheduling practices may vary by department.
