The QMHP provides a full range of outpatient and inpatient therapeutic services for individuals and groups impacted by mental health and substance use issues. Key duties include conducting diagnostic assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing crisis services within a trauma-informed framework.

Job Description

Summary: The Qualified Mental Health Professional within the Psychiatric Practices is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice in the provision of therapeutic services. QMHP is responsible for delivering a full range of outpatient services. QMHP may also provide inpatient services as requested. QMHP provides services to individuals and groups impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance use and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. QMHP demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. QMHP will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. QMHP reports to the Assistant Director of Adult Psychiatric Practices.

Qualifications

  • A Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Professional Counseling or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • The QMHP shall meet all local, state, and/or federal requirements for their identified position.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing individual, group, marital, and family counseling in alignment with contractual agreement.
  • Completes diagnostic intake assessments to ensure medical necessity is present and provides appropriate referrals based on client needs.
  • Develops individualized treatment plans within expected time frame, consistent with evidence-based practices.
  • Provides crisis services for patients during regular daytime operations
  • Adheres to system quality and documentation standards as identified by accrediting agencies, Center and program policies and procedures, and local, state and federal guidelines.
  • Displays willingness to assist with needs of other programs or services.
  • Displays professionalism with clients, colleagues and administrative staff.
  • Responsible for regularly collaborating with an interdisciplinary team of providers within Psychiatric Practices and other program components of the Center.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Normal office environment.
  • Typical demands include prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.
  • Requires ability to remain calm during stressful events, to occasionally work irregular hours, and work with exasperated individuals.
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • TB test upon hire.
