The Behavioral Health Technician serves as a frontline mentor and support system for youth in a residential treatment setting. This role combines direct supervision, behavioral support, and participation in therapeutic programming to promote stability, safety, and progress toward treatment goals.
Key Responsibilities Ensure the safety, supervision, and well-being of residents Provide structure and implement appropriate behavioral interventions Document interactions and progress using EMR and daily logs Co-facilitate therapy and psychoeducational groups Support residents in achieving individualized treatment goals Engage youth in structured activities and one-on-one mentoring Communicate observations and concerns to clinical leadership Assist clinical and case management teams as needed Transport residents to appointments when required Administer medications if properly trained Participate in required training and professional development
Required: High school diploma or GED Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in behavioral health, social services, residential treatment, or a related field Strong communication, documentation, and crisis management skills Valid transportation
