CVICU- We are an 11 bed Cardiac Surgery unit that utilizes a universal bed model.
This means that our patients are admitted to us for their surgery and will stay until ready for discharge.
This creates a wonderful opportunity for improved patient experience and safety, while also providing the nurse satisfaction of watching your patient progress from admission to discharge.
We use a multi-disciplinary and patient centered approach to provide comprehensive cardiac surgery care for our patients.
Our small unit size and patient centered focus has also created culture of collaboration and inclusion between the nursing staff and the cardiac surgery team.
